Last week we were getting a new roof and the Amish roofers (seriously- bowl cuts and suspenders and all!) were banging away from 7am-5pm everyday. I thought I was going insane.
I rejoiced when we had a thunderstorm in the middle of the day one day, thinking they'd pack it up and head home, but by 2pm (just in time for nap) they were back at work. AH!!
Carter couldn't nap and when he did it was for like 20 minutes.
By the end of every day we were both a MESS!
Because of the nap problems with the roofers we left on Thursday for the beach* but the nap problems continued there!!!! WHAT?!?! All weekend he took a morning nap but screamed instead of taking an afternoon nap.
And what does an overtired toddler do??? Screams and hangs on his momma all freaking day.
Cue the vodka. and wine. and boardwalk pizza.
So while driving home on Sunday I came up with a plan.
On Monday it was time to transition to one nap. So instead of going upstairs for nap at 9:30, we got in the car to run errands. At 12 we went up to read and he was TIRED. I did my usual singing and rocking to sleep. He slept for about an hour and a half! The next day was 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Next we'll be working on going into his crib awake and it's time to continue weaning. The bedtime feeding is next.
*This was a fabulous new addition to our car. Between Toy Story, a few Mickey episodes, a nap, and a good supply of Mum Mums we survived the 3 hour drive!
This weekend we went to the beach house with some friends and their kids. It was so much fun despite some sleeping issues of course- 4 kids under 4 in one house, it's bound to happen!
On Saturday afternoon we went to the rides on the boardwalk and Carter rode on his first merry-go-round! He wasn't sure about the horses so after clinging to me and trying to dismount any way possible (he even reached for the ride operator to help take him down) we decided sitting on the sleigh would have to do!
He loved the amusement park and pointed everywhere and danced to the music.
In this post I talked about how I loved the Olay cleanser brush. Well....forget it! The Clarisonic is
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Save your $20 for Olay and spend the extra on the Clarisonic...it's so worth it! My skin was breaking out again and after using the Clarisonic once it got so much better. The brush is bigger and more powerful & I love how it pauses when it's time to move the brush to another part of your face.
I got the pink Mia 2 on amazon. I got a total deal and it was only $113! Amazon prices change so often so I just checked it many times until it was a good price!
Oh and the next product obsession of the moment is Kiehl's Creme de Corps lightweight body lotion SPF 30! I just got it with the friends & family discount and LOVE it!!! It smells good and is much lighter than the original Creme de Corps! I'm super fair & had melanoma in 2004 so SPF is a must for me!
Hi! I'm Paige! I spend my days with my sons, Carter & Reid. Dido radio is on constantly in my kitchen and I hide out at Starbucks with an iced coffee whenever I get a chance to blog. I share about things I love and motherhood- the celebrations & struggles.
