5 on friday 1.8.16

What a week!  I was so happy to return to a routine and Carter was happy to go back to school this week!  Despite the freezing temps we braved the cold on Monday to play at the playground and have taken a few short walks outside. But those witching hours sure are long when we can't play outside!

Now onto my five for the first week of 2016!

one.
cleaning out and consigning
source
I've been on such a cleaning out binge.  I can get rid of things like nobody's business!  Purple heart is so super easy that you schedule a pick up, put your bags outside, and they come and pick it up!  But I'm having a hard time parting with some of my more expensive and nicer clothes, shoes etc.  I looked into Thred up and went to Pandora's Closet (and was wildly disappointed.)  Any ideas of what to do with cute Anthropologie tops, expensive jeans, and dresses worn to weddings etc?

I see Rent the Runway in my future, for sure!

We've been putting a few baby things on eBay and I've been begging my friends to have babies so I can give them all of my stuff.  I just CANNOT part with some newborn outfits and hats.

two.
Burts Bees Sensitive Wipes
I finally have a good method of washing my face.  My skin feels smoother than ever.  This may sound silly, but forever I would just use eye makeup remover for my eyes and then a face wash.  But I noticed with R & F Soothe my skin did not feel clean.  So I bought Burt's Bees sensitive face wipes.  I use one of them all over my face & eyes then either Burt's Bees sensitive face wash or Cetaphil. What a difference that makes!  (I did try Neutrogena wipes, but didn't like those too much.)

I also got the Makeup Eraser for Christmas so I have to try that too instead of the wipes every night.

three.
Slip Silk Eye Mask

This was on my Christmas wish list and Santa delivered!  It's so soft and smooth and I have high hopes that it's helping my R & F eye cream stay put on my face to work it's magic!  I definitely recommend it, but I did have to take it in a little bit because it was a little too loose.

four.
the bachelor, making a murderer, married at first sight

For months I have not been into any show and nights were so boring as I would waste time on the internet.  But all of the sudden my nights are booked between the bachelor, married at first sight and when nothing else is on we watch an episode of making a murderer.  I just love cozying up on the couch for a good show!

five.
Reese's chocolate PB chip cookie bars

It's January and everyone is trying to be healthy, right?  But when you are stir crazy and it's way too cold to play outside, we bake.  This recipe is sooooo yummy.  We made bars instead of cookies and they are almost gone.

Happy Weekend!!

  4. Paige, I am totally into The Bachelor and Making a Murderer, too! It is so exciting for me to put Camille down and grab a spot on the couch next to Ian these nights knowing that we have great shows to watch!

  5. I'm so glad The Bachelor is back on and that it's Ben! I have high hopes for his season and I'm hoping he doesn't turn into a Chris and make out with every girl there haha!

  6. I'm so glad to see you mention Married at First Sight...sometimes I feel like I am the only one who watches it (except for my husband, but he won't admit it!). I LOVE the show and have faithfully watched all 3 seasons! I'm an episode behind this season, but despite some terribly awkward beginnings, I'm feeling hopeful!

    1. I don't know how this season is going to go. It is painful and entertaining all at once! My husband claims to not be interested in it either, yet always seems to know what's going on!
